Academic/Career Accomplishments

  Dr. Sally Webb is a 1974 graduate of Ravenna High School, where she was active in band, the High Times staff, National Honor Society, Ski Club and was valedictorian of her class. Following family footsteps into the health care field, Sally graduated from Hiram College and Tulane University School of Medicine. She chose pediatrics as a career and completed her internship, residency and chief residency in Cincinnati at the University of Cincinnati’s Children’s Hospital Medical Center. After a three year Fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at the University of Colorado, she joined the faculty at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC in 1991. As a Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics at MUSC, Sally cares for critically ill children in both the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, the Pediatric Emergency Department, and supervises medical students and residents during their rotations through these clinical areas. She sits on the Dean’s Education Policy Council and directs the Introduction to Clinical Ethics course required for medical students. Her avid interest in Medical Ethics has afforded her the opportunity to serve as Chair of the MUSC Medical Center Ethics Committee and as a member of the Ethics Committee on both the Society for Critical Care Medicine and the South Carolina Medical Association. Through teaching, speaking engagements, and polished articles, she demonstrates her commitment to improving the quality of health care and ethical decision-making for children at local, state and national levels.
