Spend a while crafting, learning, and sharing skills and ideas with others who love working with yarn, thread, hooks, and needles. The library will provide some of these materials to practice with if you don't have your own. No registration is required.

The Writers' Group meets every fourth Tuesday from 1:30-2:30 p.m.
This is open to all writers and authors interested in learning new techniques, networking with other authors, and sharing their work for feedback. No registration is required for this event.

Skip the bagged lunch and enjoy eclectic food truck fare at Reed Memorial Library’s Food Truck Fridays every Friday between June 14 and August 30. Food trucks will be available at 167 East Main Street in front of the library between 11:30-2:00 p.m. Seating areas with tables and chairs will be provided. Reed Memorial Library is excited to announce this year’s Summer Reading Challenge for children, teens, and adults that will run June 3 through July 29.
Children age 10 and under are invited to stop by the Summer Reading Challenge Kickoff Party to register, or to stop by the Children’s Department during their next visit. Participants will receive a challenge log that includes literary and activity-based challenges to keep them busy during the summer months. Complete the challenges for the chance to win big!
Teens and adults are invited to complete raffle tickets for every book, magazine, or audiobook they complete. Tickets will be entered into separate weekly and grand prize drawings for both audiences. Teens that turn in eight tickets will be invited to Reed Memorial Library’s first after hour lock-in featuring an escape room, pizza, and scavenger hunt. Raffle prizes for adults and teens include tickets to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Akron Orchestra, Akron RubberDucks, gift cards, and much more.
